Permora reads a photo of a whole parking sign post, turns every plate on it into a rule the phone can check, and tells the driver whether the car may stay and until which minute, with sign-in, purchases, push, three languages, a Laravel key proxy with its admin panel and a launch website already built around it: 16 screens, ready to rebrand. Both themes are finished, and the week of any post can be asked about by dragging one line.
Reading a post or a permit with a real photo calls OpenAI, Anthropic or Gemini, and the provider bills every one of those requests to whoever’s key is used, the driver’s own or yours through the included key proxy, an ongoing cost for as long as the app is in use. Google Sign-In, Sign in with Apple and push notifications need your own paid developer accounts and services (an Apple Developer Program membership, a Google Play Console account, a Firebase project), as do analytics, in-app purchases and publishing to the stores, and the proxy needs hosting of your own. Sign-up and password-reset codes go out by email through an SMTP provider of your own (until one is set, the server writes them to its log, or to the bundled Mailpit inbox under Docker), and most providers charge by volume past a free tier. Each of these will incur its own separate charges on your account with that provider, none of them covered by the purchase price.
AI disclosure
AI-assisted tools were used to help write and review the source code and the documentation of this item. The author reviewed, tested and finalized every part before release.
In addition, Permora’s parking sign reading is AI-powered. At run time a model does three things in Permora: it transcribes the plates on a photographed post (kind, days, hours, time limit, permit zone), it reads the zone and expiry date off a permit photo, and it writes the three sentences behind Why this answer. Whether the car may park, until when, and from when it may park again are worked out on the phone by the app’s own rule engine from plates the driver confirmed. No AI service, key or credit ships with the item: buyers connect their own Gemini, OpenAI or Anthropic account, or run the included key proxy with their own keys, and pay those providers directly. Without a key the app answers in Demo mode on the device from its sample posts. The street photographs are Pexels-licensed stock listed in assets/images/street/LICENSES.txt, the sample posts are drawings made for this item, the typefaces are under the SIL Open Font License, and no image-generation model was used.
